It ain't OG without Ceb.
Western European Dota 2 stalwarts OG announced a familiar roster change for longtime fans on Wednesday (5 February). Team co-founder and two-time The International (TI) champion
Sébastien “Ceb” Debs has rejoined the team's active roster as their offlaner and captain.
Ceb's return to the lineup comes shortly after OG moved position 4 support player Matthew “Ari” Walker to their inactive roster. The two-time TI champion also notably played with OG as a stand-in during the gauntlet of qualifiers in January following
Adrian “Wisper” Cespedes Dobles' move to
HEROIC.
OG's flurry of roster changes comes after an extended period of poor results for the team, which include missing out on TI in consecutive years for the first time in their storied history. In the gauntlet of qualifiers OG played in back in January, the team only qualified for PGL Wallachia Season 3 and missed out on DreamLeague Season 25 and ESL ONE Raleigh 2025.
This now marks the third time that Ceb has left OG's active roster only to rejoin it soon after, as he has a history of doing so dating back to 2018. Previously, Ceb had been placed in the team's inactive roster, and even announced his retirement before eventually returning to competitive play.
While Ceb is most known for playing as OG's offlaner during their back-to-back TI championship runs in 2018 and 2019, his more recent stints with the team in 2023 and 2024 saw him take on both position 4 and 5 support roles. He now returns to the role he has enjoyed the most success with, while also taking on a bigger leadership role in a roster that have so far struggled to produce significant results.
Even with Ceb's return, OG are still short a position 4 support player to replace Ari. With the Western European qualifiers for FISSURE UNIVERSE Episode 4 set to begin in a week's time, OG are expected to announce their complete roster in the coming days.
