Heroic secured the last playoff spot for DreamLeague Season 23 after besting Team Liquid 2:1 in the tiebreaker series.
DreamLeague Season 23 group stage came to a thrilling end with a three-game tie-breaker series to determine the last playoff team. It was the most 7.35 game to end the patch, taking over 75 minutes to close out the last game – a stark contrast to Heroic's loss to Team Liquid in 16 minutes on Day 1.
Another DreamLeague and another elimination in the group stage for Team Liquid. This marks the fourth consecutive DreamLeague the team failed to advance in. Taking high ground was near impossible for them and Heroic just kept up their determination and punished Liquid's mistakes.
Heroic not only won the series and staved off elimination, but kept their hopes for a direct invite to Riyadh Masters alive. Regardless, Liquid had already secured a place via EPT points at Riyadh, and the big patch is expected to land soon, so changes are bound to happen for this team.
The action will resume tomorrow, Thursday, May 23rd with the Upper Bracket Semi Finals.
