After parting ways with beastcoast, K1 will join forces with nouns in their quest to get qualification for TI12.
A few days ago, Héctor Antonio "K1" Rodríguez surprisingly parted ways with beastcoast. K1 has been one of the better players to emerge from the South American Dota 2 region, so it was only a question of who would sweep up the position 1 behemoth. As it turns out, the North American frontrunners for the TI12 qualifiers have come calling. nouns announced the arrival of K1 in their ranks a few days after parting ways with Jacob “Husky” Fifik.
nouns recently played in their first DPC Major of the season, the Bali Major. While they had a good start to the group stages, their performances dropped as the tournament progressed and the team was eliminated in the group stages. Luckily for them and the entire North American Dota 2 region, TSM secured a direct invite to TI12, meaning nouns are the favourites for the TI12 NA qualifiers. But still, they felt changes were necessary to ensure qualification.
K1 is a seasoned player who has played at multiple DPC Majors and TIs. This nouns team does have a bit of experience in David “Moo” Hull, who was a TI6 runner up, but the rest of the players don’t have a lot of LAN experience. K1's addition will help in that department. The weird part is, Husky was a support, whereas K1 is a carry. The solution to that is nouns' previous carry, Luke “YamSum” Wang will be playing as the new position 5.
The TI12 qualifiers are more than a month away, which will give the new roster a good amount of time to get used to the shuffle and get in shape. If nouns weren’t the favorites before, they definitely are now with the addition of K1. Get ready for some Wraith King in the NA TI12 qualifiers!
