Team Secret, OG, Nigma and T1 among the invited squads for ESL One Summer 2021

ESL One Summer 2021 is set to begin this coming Wednesday, June 16 to keep the Dota 2 action going in between AniMajor and TI10 regional closed qualifiers.

A total of 12 teams will enter the battle for the title and a share of the whopping $400,000 prize pool. Initially planned to have 11 directly invited teams joined by one team coming from qualifier rounds, the tournament had to readjust a little and allow the top three finishers in the closed qualifiers to join the final line-up.

ESL One Summer 2021 boasts a fair mix for teams who have already qualified for TI10 and over the past two weeks showcased their powers at WePlay AniMajor, joined by plenty of those who will be looking to make a splash in the TI10 regional qualifiers.

Team Liquid will get the chance to warm up their returning offlane player Samuel "Boxi" Svahn before the big qualifiers battle for TI10. The tournament might also be the place where OG fans will get to see their favourite team’s full lineup after Ana's departure. AS Monaco Gambit will also make their first appearance with  Albert “eine” Garaev, who joined the team in the support 5 position.

Although this is an event that will be held on European servers, the South Korean powerhouse T1, who have mesmerized the Dota 2 fans with their gameplay at AniMajor, will also join the fray for ESL One Summer 2021 as they are still in Kyiv, Ukraine. The North America representative, Quincy Crew are also set to play at ESL One Summer 2021, making the tournament a truly international affair.

The tournament will run June 16-20 in an online, double elimination bracket format. While ESL One Summer 2021 is not a part of the Dota Pro Circuit, the bracket seeding will be made based on the DPC rankings, the organizers announced.

Not only some of the teams that fought for the AniMajor title will be in attendance, but also a part of the AniMajor talent. However, this will be an all-male broadcast line-up.
