LGD and Sacred knocked out of Summit 8

Without a single win between the two teams, LGD and Sacred were knocked out of the Dota Summit 8 Minor.

As the group stage has come to a close, two teams made their exit stage left, three teams advanced to the playoffs and four teams will continue to battle it out for the final playoff spot in the last Pro Circuit event of the 2017 year.

LGD Gaming and Sacred had dismal performances to round out their year. Neither team was able to clinch a single win against their opponents in their matches and most of their games were relatively one sided - not in their favor. With their spirits most likely in tatters and their results through the season varying, it may be time both squads are looking to hit the reset button and examine their lineups heading into the second half of the Pro Circuit 2017-2018 year.

On the bright side, their losses gave compLexity Gaming one last fighting chance to leap forward into the playoff spot and attain additional points on the board with a top four finish. The NA/EU mix will have their shot in the WildCard series as the fourth team.

LGD gaming's loss at the hands of Fnatic also thrust the SEA team into the top position for Group C, edging out OpTic Gaming and relegating the NA team into the Wild Card position. OpTic will go head to head with compLexity. With plenty of bad blood and old rivalries between the players on both teams, the series is bound to be thrilling and intense.

OG's debut at the event kicked off in top form team. Sweeping through Sacred the team was tied with Virtus.pro going into their series. The CIS powerhouse was not to be toyed with and with three amazing games for both Vladimir "No[o]ne" Minenko and Roman "RAMZES666" Kushnarev Virtus.pro stomped all over the Dream Green's gains. Continuing to dominate with their undefeated streak, VP took the top and playoff spot of Group A with ease.

The entire Wild Card series will be played on December 16th with only one team advancing to the playoffs and securing Pro Circuit points.

Wild Card Format:

  • 3 runner-ups from group stage and the 3rd place team with most wins
  • Single Elimination
  • Winner advances to playoffs
