Kpii will be carrying VGJ.Storm at MDL Macau

After the untimely departure of Ravindu 'Ritsu' Kodippili from VG J Storm, Newbee's Damien 'kpii' Chok will be switching to the carry position and standing in for the minor.

Having landed a spot in their first Minor, VG J.Storm's roster soon underwent some changes, with their carry, Ritsu, departing from the team to "pursue another opportunity". Down one member and with the Minor just a week away, VGJ.Storm look like they've found the perfect stand-in to travel with them to Asia's Las Vegas - Kpii. While newer spectators may not be used to seeing kpii in the safelane, yet the role is what he started his career on, since his earliest days in MVP.Phoenix. Having secured his place in the offlane now, kpii is still known for his niche Naga Siren pick that transitions into a farm-heavy carry later on in the game.

November saw a hungry VG J Storm fight their way through the North American qualifiers for this year's Mars Dota League. Facing teams of the likes of OpTic Gaming, Digital Chaos, and Immortals, VG J Storm quickly battled their way to the final, taking a series of both Blue Pikachu and OpTic Gaming. The finals saw them clash with Digital Chaos, a formidable team led by none other than Jimmy 'DeMoN' Ho. Having dropped the first game, VGJ.Storm were quick to recollect themselves and win the next two games, and secure themselves a ticket to Macau. And just as the team's chemistry had started to mesh together, a week later, Ritsu, whose role in the qualifiers had been decisive, departed from the team.

However, it will be interesting to see kpii taking his talents to the North American team's safelane for the tournament and have a shot at earning 50% of the qualifying points for himself too.

MDL Macau

Taking place from the 8th-10th of December, MDL Macau will feature eight teams from all over the world fighting for their cut of the $300,000 prize pool as well as a shot at earning 300 qualifying points to add towards their Pro Circuit points for a direct invite to the annual International.
