Newbee qualify for DreamLeague Season 8 Major

With five Pro Circuit events direct invites already in the bag, Newbee secures their spot at one more major after a flawless run in the DreamLeague Season 8 Chinese qualifiers.

Newbee’s absolutely amazing TI7 performance and their decision of not making any roster change came with direct invites at most of the new season minors and majors. DreamLeague, however, went with a different approach for their major and didn’t hand any direct invites. Instead, they are running regional qualifiers in all the six regions with European and CIS teams placed in a league format from which four teams will earn their presence at the $1,000,000 and 1500 qualifier points main event.

While other regions are well underway, China decided its winner in a double elimination bracket where three teams tried to beat the TI7 runners up but with no avail. Newbee took down 2-1 Vici Gaming, and 2-0 LGD Forever Young twice, in the semi-finals and the finals, to claim tickets to a third major for themselves.

The end of 2017 will be extremely busy for Newbee who will enter the Pro Circuit qualifier points race in just four days with the StarLadder i-League Invitational Season 3 minor. So far they have three minors and three major to attend with a maximum of 2700 possible qualifier points up for grabs, as follows:

October 12-15 SL i-League Invitational - Minor (invite)
October 26-29 ESL One Hamburg - Major (invite)
November 2-5 AMD SAPPHIRE Dota Pit - Minor (invite)
November 19-26 Perfect World Masters - Minor (invite)
December 1-4 DreamLeague Season 8 - Major (qualified)
January 15-21 Galaxy Battles - Major (invite)
