TI7: LFY are invincible; wipe out Virtus.Pro 2:0

In a thrilling 2:0 sweep, LFY knocked Virtus Pro into the lower brackets at The International 2017.

With style, grace and refinement, LGD Forever Young are truly the embodiment the Chinese meme; LFY are invicible. The team came into first seed of the main event after a staggering 14:2 record in the group stage. They continued to apply pressure to all of their opponents and tackled each match with confidence, mechanical prowess, extraordinary team fights and synergy. The Chinese rising stars knocked down TnC in a 2:0 sweep before setting their sights on VP.

VP had all the swagger and sauce of top contenders, with a strong showing in the group stage and then a knock out performance over LGD Gaming in the upper brackets. However, it seemed that LFY had taken the wind out of their sails and forced the CIS team into picking up new strategies and drafts that didn't seem to reflect the supremely confident titans.

With all of the traits of a championship team, LFY have now advanced to the upper bracket finals to face Newbee

Game One

In an overwhelming onesided first game, LFY dismantled Virtus.Pro in only 26 minutes. A flawless game for Du 'Monet' Peng on Morphling was a demonstration of the young player's talent.

Game Two

An aegis steal, a game ending four man chronosphere and a nailbiting turn around, the second match was one for the books for LFY.

Virtus.Pro were not about to be discounted after a devestating first blow. The CIS team came into the second game with focus and intent, giving them the slight advantage early on.

Patience from LFY paid off once again for them as they were easily able to bait Virtus.Pro into their deaths on the high ground and close the gap between the two, to take back the advantage VP had gained just moments before. In intense clutch moments, in the witching hour, LFY not only regained themselves, they evened out the barracks situation and created a dire sitaution for VP.

In a heart-thomping ending, LFY took control and dominated Virtus.Pro at the very end to knock the CIS kings into the lower brackets.

The action will resume on Thursday, August 10th with the Lower Brackets Round 3 elimination series between Team Liquid and Team Empire at 10:00 PDT/19:00 CEST.
