WCA 2017 SEA qualifiers are coming!

World Cyber Arena returns with its 2017 edition. On the heels of the TI7 qualifiers, the SEA regional event will kick off with the open qualifiers with a chance for local teams to compete against regional stars and for a piece of the prize pool.

The SEA/APAC qualifiers for the LAN event is organized in collaboration with UCC and features a $50,000 prize pool and three stages as follows:

Open Qualifiers:

Dates: June 29-30
Registration: On FaceIT HERE

Dates: July 1-2
Registration: On FaceIT HERE

 

  • There are 512 spots for teams to register at each of the WCA SEA/APAC open qualifiers
  • Check in starts at 11:00 CEST on the first day of each event
  • Competition will start at 12:00 CEST
  • All rounds will be played in a best-of-one format
  • Semi finals and finals will be played in best-of-three format
  • One team from each event will advance into the closed qualifiers stage

 

Closed Qualifiers:

Dates: July 4-11
Invited Teams: TnC Pro, Mineski, Team Faceless, Clutch Gamers, Geek Fam, Happy Feet, Fnatic, WG.Unity

 

  • The two winners of the open qualifiers will join the eight invited teams in the second stage
  • Closed qualifiers will be played starting on the 4th of July
  • The ten teams will be split into two groups of five
  • Competition will be held in a round robin group stage format
  • The top two teams of each group will advance into the final stage qualifiers

 

Final Stage Qualifiers:

Dates: July 15-17th

 

  • Four teams from closed qualifiers will compete
  • Double Elimination format
  • Two teams advance to the main event
  • Top three teams receive a piece of the $50,000 prize pool

 

Final Stage Prizepool distribution:

 

  • 1st place: ~$29,000+ slot for WCA 2017
  • 2nd place: ~$14,000+ slot for WCA 2017
  • 3rd place: ~$7,000

 

WCA 2017

 

WCA 2017 LAN finals will be held this December in Yinchuan, China with a $500,000 prize pool.
