Team Secret qualify for the Kiev Major

After missing the Boston Major, Puppey's squad redeemed themselves in the Kiev Qualifiers and will play on the main stage of the next Valve Major.

Game one

Game one started with both teams relying on physical damage lineups. Secret decided to go for the push with Terrorblade and Lone Druid, while Alliance placed their faith in the late game with an Alchemist pick, as well as a Lifetealer.

First blood went to Secret with Zheng "MidOne" Yeik Nai and his Terrorblade killing Jerry "EGM" Lundkvist’s Io. The game went slow, with Secret going for the objectives, while Alliance were trying to prolong the encounter and get their Alchemist as powerful as possible.

Secret were generally winning the lanes. After 13 minutes, there were just five kills on the scoreboard, but it was Secret who was getting the objectives and managed to take down the three tier one towers first.

The first team fight erupted around the 16th minute went Secret killed three from the Alliance, including the Alchemist. Although Alliance managed to quickly kill Roshan four minutes later, they paid dearly as Secret caught them right after, punished them in the following team fight and subsequently took down the first melee barracks after 22 minutes of play.

With more and more map control, Secret were increasing their advantage further while Alliance’s chances were diminishing with each passing minute. Getting caught unprepared around the 33rd minute spelled Alliance’s doom, as again it was Secret who were on the winning end. Alliance could not stop the push and called the “gg”.

Game two

Secret picked a Huskar with the usual Io plus the Abaddon providing extra sustain, while Alliance went again for a more farm-oriented lineup with Ember Spirit, Luna and Faceless Void as cores.

Once again the first blood was spilled by the team that wanted the victory more after Pyo "MP" No-a’s Huskar killed Linus "Limmp" Blomdin’s Ember Spirit. Winning the lanes, Secret began taking towers down again, set ablaze one by one by the Huskar’s fiery spears.

Yet again Team Secret gained control of the game and focused their efforts on making their Huskar as powerful as possible while continuing to push. Secret killed Roshan after 18 uncontested minutes and four minutes later attempted a high ground push, but the expiring Aegis gave Alliance some breathing time.

Alliance tried to delay the game as much as possible, but around the 29th minute they were late for the second Roshan and he was slain yet again by Team Secret. Braced by the extra life, Team Secret laid siege onto their enemies’ base and managed to get a melee barracks in the middle and a tier three at the bottom, before eventually losing four of them to Alliance.

The Swedish team eventually gained some hope after an unsuccessful push on the bot lane from Secret which ended with all five of them dead about 43 minutes of play. Despite the unfortunate outcome Secret knew that this was the path to victory and continued with their onslaught.

Five minutes later Puppey’s boys were storming Alliance’s base and after a prolonged fight, MP heard the ultra-kill from the game announcer. Mega creeps were spawning and Alliance had nothing left to do, but watch their throne get destroyed before congratulating their opponents on the win.
