None of the South American teams made it into the playoff stage of the American qualifiers, while both of the squads coming from the open qualifiers competition advanced.
The revamped Digital Chaos had no problem winning Group A, becoming the second team to advance into the playoffs with eight wins and no losses. After a surprisingly good run on day one of the group stages, FDL lost their direct battle with DC, but had gathered enough points versus the rest to take second place in the group from the more experienced competitors, and will continue their adventure in the double elimination playoff bracket.
The other team coming from open qualifiers, Dragneel, finished second in Group B with five points after three draws and a clean victory against Not Today. The winners of Group B are the Champions of BTS Series Americas Season 4, Shazam.
Both FDL and Dragneel will have a hard test on the first day of playoffs where they will face the group winners. The first series is scheduled to kick off today, May 5th, at 20:00 CEST with Digital Chaos facing Dragneel, followed at 23:30 CEST by Shazam vs FDL. The winners will advance into the playoffs semifinals while the losers will meet in round one of the lower bracket.
