Team Liquid, Polarity, Team Spirit, the defending Champions of the previous seasons and many more other teams will battle for the third season of BTS Series Europe title and the $10,000 prize pool money.
The single elimination gauntlet will commence on April 4 and judging on the team line-up for this season, it surely is one of the tournaments to follow in the upcoming week. Although it might look like an easy ride for Team Liquid the new rosters of Team Empire, Team Spirit, Fantastic Five, Kaipi and the newly formed Polarity might produce surprises.
Team Liquid is three weeks away from ESL One Manila and with the WePlay#3 qualifiers over this will be their testing ground tournament as they are not playing in any other competitions until they travel to Manila. Although none of their adversaries at BTS Series Europe #3 made it to ESL One Manila, the spring reshuffle has significantly changed the rosters and we should expect tight series and a well disputed tournament.
The two defending champions of BTS Series Eu are entering the third season of the tournament with significant roster changes. Empire is after a full five man shuffle and with their long time captain Roman 'Scandal' Sadotenkov back in his mid lane role while Fantastic Five has secured Alexander 'XBOCT' Dashkevich for the carry role.
The recently ended shuffle has changed the CIS scene entirely and part of this change is Team Spirit who benefits now from Ilya 'Illidan' Pevcaev’s carry experience. Another promising team is the new project of the two Virtus.Pro rejects Alexandr 'DkPhobos' Kucherya and Ilya 'Lil 'Ilyuk, joined in their new journey at Polarity by the ex Vega Squadron carry player Pavel '9pashaebashu' Khvastunov.
Both teams are looking strong on papers and it will be interesting to follow their progress through the current competitive season. Polarity has already debuted at the Epicenter European qualifiers where they got knocked down into the lower bracket by the new lineup of Power Rangers but yesterday, 2nd of April, they’ve eliminated Na’Vi from the race for the Moscow LAN with a clear 2-0 victory.
Spirit on the other hand, have already reached with their new roster the finals of the European qualifiers for Starladder|i-League Invitational.
All in all, the BTS Series Europe Season 3 promises to be the strongest edition so far and a very good chance for teams and Dota 2 fans alike to understand and accommodate to the new rosters.
