Alliance has become the first team to lock in a roster that has remain unchanged from the Shanghai Major, amidst the swirl of roster changes in the scene following the tournament.

The professional Dota scene is currently engaging in the usual post-Major roster shuffle. There has already been drama. Teams are scrambling to pick up new talent, trying to fix problems that existed within the teams both before and at the Shanghai tournament itself. One team that is bucking this trend is Alliance, who have become the first team to lock in a completely unchanged roster.

In the days following the Shanghai Major, there were murmurs on reddit that Jerry 'EGM' Lundkvist may have been leaving Alliance once again. However, these proved to be false when Alliance submitted their TI3-winning roster as their confirmed line-up on the official registration list.

Alliance’s roster is as follows:
Sweden Jonathan 'Loda' Berg
Sweden Henrik 'AdmiralBulldog' Ahnberg
Sweden Gustav 's4' Magnusson
Sweden Jerry 'EGM' Lundkvist
Sweden Joakim 'Akke' Akterhall

Alliance performed beyond many people’s expectations in the weeks preceding the Shanghai Major. The Swedes secured victories at both WCA and Starladder|i-League, and a large portion of the community thought toted them as strong contenders to take the title in Shanghai. However, they faltered at a number of points in the tournament, finishing in 7th-8th place after a final loss to compLexity.

The Alliance crew are not deterred by what some would consider a disappointing finish in Shanghai. They are confident that they play their best Dota with the five athletes that won TI3 together. With the 6.87 patch on everyone’s radar, the coming weeks will reveal whether it will be a patch where Alliance can dominate or one where they will struggle to find their footing. One thing that is certain is that they will continue to fight as one of the most unified, in-sync rosters in professional Dota. Keep an eye on the Swedes. And don’t forget to ban Furion.
