A few more hours till we reach The Summit 3

The long awaited LAN finals for The Summit 3 is set to begin in the a few hours time, being held at the BTS house in LA, it will feature top teams around the world battling it out for the $270,000 prize pool.

The time is now for The Summit 3 LAN finals. The LAN finals will feature eight top teams from six regions around the world fighting for the prize pool of $270,000 from the 13th of May through 17th. The teams have already been split into two groups of four to play out a double elimination groupstage for the first stage of the LAN finals; the first game of the tournament will be Vici Gaming vs Rave. The games will all be casted by BeyondTheSummit.

Quite a few teams will want to prove themselves this tournament, most notably is the SEA qualifier winner, Rave. After their amazing performance at the DAC netted them a fifth place finish, Rave's performance has been going downhill as they were unable to return to their training house in Korea following some legal documentation misunderstandings between them and the Filipino immigration which resulted in their team being split up and not being able to access stable internet, rendering themselves neither able to train nor play. As a signal to their poor form, they have recently lost to two teams they used to crush with ease, Team Redemption (0-1) and Underminer (0-2), Rave are also no longer able to put up a fight against their 'best in SEA' title rival, Team MY. The Summit 3 is one of the last places Rave have to show that they have recovered from their past ordeal and to prove Valve wrong for not giving them the TI5 SEA direct invite.

Other teams who have something to prove include Vici Gaming and Invictus Gaming who despite being first and second in the Chinese scene and first and sixth globally on Gosurankings, obtained second place in the D2CL LAN finals (VG) and Red Bull Battle Grounds (IG), having lost to Empire (3-0) and Secret (2-3) respectively. This international LAN will allow these two teams to show that their loses were just a one time affair and prove that they are the best in the world.
