Cloud9 are not on cloud nine, Secret goes to the Red Bull Battle Grounds LAN finals

The Red Bull Battle Grounds EU division comes to an end with Team Secret going 2-0 against Cloud9 in the finals. With this, Secret will join the winners of the four other qualifiers in the Red Bull Battle Ground LAN event.

The fourth of five Red Bull Battle Grounds qualifiers have ended with Team Secret taking the European qualifiers, they will be joining Team MY, IG, HR and the American qualifier winner at the Red Bull Battle Grounds LAN event in Santa Monica to fight for their stake in the $75 000 prize pool.

This is Secret's first victory under their recently announced team director, Kemal Sadikoglu. The team is currently in Istanbul with their team director.

The final qualifiers will be the American one on the 28th of April.

Despite the best-of-one format of the bracket, Team Secret held strong, advancing to the finals through the winner's bracket, taking down NiP and Alliance on the way, a feat that they have been able to consistently do in the past, having 2-0 Alliance twice before in other tournaments. As for the other finalist, Cloud9, they were knocked into the lower brackets in the first round by NiP, a team they had a 1-1 record against in their past two games against each other. After eliminating Alliance to get to the second round, Cloud9 took the game against NiP, eliminating them and going on into the finals.

The 2-0 of Cloud9 by Team Secret was widely expected by the viewers as reflected by the 96% to 4% odds for this match on Gosubets. Game one featured a strong pushing line-up by Secret, drafting a Broodmother and a Chen, and a mid-game centric line-up by Cloud9, picking up a TA and Phoenix; although both lineups face-off against each other well, the early game went in Secret's favor resulting in them snowballing from there to take the game.

As for game two, Cloud9 drafted a support Bounty Hunter and Secret drafted a offflane Bane. The early game went in Cloud9's favor, having shut down the Phantom Assassin and the Chen. However, the QOP and Bane were able to find pick offs and slowly stopped Cloud9 momentum; turning it in their favor.
