Chinese groupstages of D2CL and StarLadder begin

The fans of Chinese Dota2 will have the chance to enjoy their favorite teams once again, as the round-robin groupstage matches of both D2CL 5 and StarLadder 12 are set to begin this week. The SL12 groupstage will open on March 15th, while D2CL is scheduled to start on March 18th.

The Chinese New Year break is finally over, and the Chinese teams are ready to return to action once again and prepare for The International. Two different tournaments will kick off this week, each with their own round-robin groupstage - StarLadder 12 and D2CL#5. Since the starting dates of the competitions coincide with ACE's transfer deadline, all the teams will deploy their renovated rosters in their opening matches.

StarLadder XII

While the European and American divisions of StarLadder 12 have already started, the Chinese division was delayed due to reshuffle. Nevertheless, the matches are set to begin tomorrow, March 15th, with the matches of the first round-robin phase. The eight participants will be divided into two groups, and they will face each member of their group once in a best-of-three match. The top two squads will advance to the next phase, a four-team double elimination bracket that leads to the LAN finals.

Live broadcasting of SLXII will be provided by BeyondTheSummit in English and SLTV in Russian.

Dota2 Champions League #5

Last season's Chinese division may have been cancelled, but China has finally joined the D2CL action. Eight Chinese teams will be placed in one group, where they will play best-of-two matches in round-robin format. The top four teams of the group will advance to the regional playoffs, and fight for the single Chinese spot in the tournament's LAN finals. While six teams have already been invited, the remaining two spots will be filled through qualifiers, scheduled to take place from March 15th through 17th. The first match of the groupstage will take place on March 18th.

Live broadcasting of D2CL will be provided by the joinDOTA Studio in English and Storm Studio in Russian.
