Only three teams remain in the final stage of the South East Asian qualifier for The Summit 3 and all three are located in South Korea. Rave were able to defeat MVP Phoenix to secure their place in the grand final, while MVP.Hot6ix earned a narrow victory over Mineski to set up a Korean battle in the lower bracket final.
Over the last two days three teams have been eliminated from The Summit 3 SEA qualifier with 5eva, Can't Say Wips and Mineski all departing the competition to allow the three Korean based teams to battle between each other to claim the one available qualifier spot for the Los Angeles based event. Rave will definitely be favourites to claim that spot as they secure their spot in the grand final after an unbeaten run through the qualifier. They beat MVP Phoenix in the winner bracket final in a two game stomp and force the South Koreans down into the lower bracket to compete against their own organization after MVP.Hot6ix's superb run through the lower bracket. The second team in the MVP organization has now finally seen the arrival of Jesse 'JerAx' Vainikka, but even before the Finnish player had arrived the Korean team managed to change their form from their opening loss and start winning from the first round of the lower bracket. Their narrow victory over Mineski has secured their place in the lower bracket final, but will there be nerves going into a match against their first team with the recent arrival of a new player?
With only two games remaining in the qualifier, we will see the battle of the MVP teams tomorrow at 10:00 CET while the decider to find out if Rave can retain their unbeaten run through the qualifier and secure their place in The Summit 3 finals in Los Angeles will take place on March 14th at 10:00 CET.
