DotaPit #2 : Secret Team takes down Virtus.pro to become the second grand finalist

The second semi-final of DotaPit Season belongs to the past, and Secret Team managed to grab the second spot in the grand finals of DotaPit #2 after a 3-1 victory against Virtus.pro. The best-of-five grand final between Secret Team and VP.Polar will take place tomorrow, December 23rd, at 19.45 CET.

We are slowly reaching the conclusion of DotaPit Season 2, as we now have the two teams that will be competing in the grand finals. VP.Polar managed to grab the first spot last week, with their 3-2 victory against Evil Geniuses. They will now have to face Secret Team, who advanced earlier today by defeating Virtus.pro with a 3-1 gamescore.

The Russians entered the series with a very strong teamfight-oriented lineup, and they managed to maintain control of the map for the entirety of the game and snowball to a 34-minute victory. Despite the quite crushing defeat, Secret Team managed to bounce back quickly, winning three consecutive games using the Elder Titan / Disruptor combo, along with a variety of strategies based mostly on AOE spell damage. Due to the long duration of the match, Secret Team was forced to forfeit their match against Team Empire in StarLadder.

The best-of-five Grand Final of DotaPit Season 2 will take place on December 23rd at 19.45 CET. Live broadcasting of the games will be provided by DotaPit in English and Adekvat in Russian. For more information regarding the tournament, check out our coverage hub here.
