The upcoming Esportal League will feature several open tournaments and invitationals, each offering its own prizepool and a ticket to the LAN finals on March 2015. The season begins with the 256-team open qualifiers on November 28th, with €4500 up for grabs.
Five action-packed months are ahead of us, as the Swedish organization Aftonbladet launched a new series of tournaments, the Esportal DotA2 League. From November 2014 through March 2015, eight online qualifiers will be held to determine the eight challengers that will fight for €110,000 in the tournament's LAN finals. The season will begin with the first open qualifier tour, with 256 teams fighting for €4500 and a spot in the main event.
The open qualifiers will have a single-elimination format with best-of-one matches. The teams can register here. The winner of the qualifier will earn €2500 and a paid trip to the LAN finals. Two more qualifiers of the same type will be held in the upcoming months, so any teams that fail to grab a slot now, they will have the chance to join the tournaments and fight for one of the three LAN spots.
Along with the open qualifiers, three invitationals will also take place with professional teams invited by the organization. The challengers of the first invitational will battle for their share of €15,000, in the online event of December 2014. Two more invitationals will be held in 2015, with a total of three LAN spots going to the winners.
The two remaining spots of the main event will be filled by the first and second team of the Esportal Ladder, and every team is welcomed to participate. The Ladder does not provide a cash prize to the two finalists, only a paid trip to event's location. You can find more information about the ladder in the Esportal official site here.
Live broadcasting of the tournament's matches will be provided by BeyondTheSummit.
