The Summit's 2nd season is down to five teams in the Southeast Asian region and in the European division. While Invasion is awaiting their opponent to be played out between Team Malaysia and First Departure, Team Secret is set to take on Cloud 9.
Today, The Summit 2 will see two teams qualify for the LAN finals as the SEA and the European division come to an end. In the SEA division, Invasion has managed to go through to the grand finals of the bracket and will face the winner of the match between Team Malaysia and First Departure. The two teams met before in the bracket, when First Departure 2-0'ed the Malaysians and knocked them down to the lower bracket. In the grudge match, Team Malaysia will play without their veteran player Xtinct, who has recently left the team.
The action is set to kick off at 10.00 CET with Malaysia and First Departure heading into a bo3.
In the European division, Team Secret will take on Cloud 9. Secret has had a strong run during the tournament, going through the groupstage with a 9-2 record and convincingly making their way to the finals. Cloud 9 on the other hand only scored a 7-4 record and dropped down to the lower bracket in the first round. Despite the early loss however, C9 fought their way back to the finals quite convincingly and will look to contest the final spot.
The bo5 finals will take place at 18.00 CET with Team Secret being the favorites, having won both previous encounters thus far.
In the Chinese region, Vici Gaming is sitting in the finals, awaiting the conclusion of Newbee vs. LGD-Gaming. The North-American division has just finished its groupstage and compLexity Gaming, Not Today, Leviathan and Na'Vi.US will compete to be the second North-American representative next to Evil Geniuses, who, as the defending Champion, have been directly invited to the event.
