The Chinese qualifiers for ESL One New York started yesterday, with the first six matches of the initial double-elimination groupstage. Through their two consecutive victories, both VG and LAI have advanced to the next round, while the three remaining competitors of each group will have to fight for a spot in the single-elimination qualifier playoffs.

The regional qualifiers for ESL One New York have started for Europe, China and America, and some of the strongest squads in the world are fighting for the chance to compete in the Madison Square Garden finals in October. The Chinese qualifiers started yesterday, with the double elmination groupstage featuring eight teams in total.

Both Group A and Group B feature a double-elimination bracket, with four teams aiming to grab one of the four slots (two from each group) in the single-elimination qualifier playoffs. Since the first three matches of each group have already been played, we know two teams that advance - LAI and ViCi Gaming. Both these teams are currently undefeated in the groupstage, taking down Tongfu/LGD and NewBee/HGT respectively. The three remaining squads will now have to survive the Lower Bracket of their groups to secure one of the two remaining playoff spots. The winner of the qualifier playoffs will earn the precious ticket to New York.
