The second round of WEC offline finals is now over, along with the two best-of-three matches of the Upper Bracket. ViCi Gaming managed to avenge themselves with a 2-1 score against NewBee, while C9 managed to overcome the obstacle of Na'Vi without dropping a match.
We have reached the dusk of the first day of the WEC LAN finals, after six matches between the eight participants. In the end, one Western and one Eastern team have been declared the "winners" of the day, securing a comfortable spot in the Upper Bracket final of the tournament. The reloaded Chinese squad ViCi Gaming managed to get revenge on NewBee for their defeat in the finals of The International 4, while Cloud9 showed a lot of character against Na'Vi and their aggressive playstyle.
The Lower Bracket matches will take place tomorrow, September 6th, starting at 4:30 CEST with two best-of-three matches featuring the teams that got eliminated from the first round : EG, HGT, LGD.CDEC and LGD. The winner of the EG-HGT match will determine the opponent of Natus Vincere, while the winner of the civil war between LGD and LGD.CDEC wil battle against NewBee. All the Lower Bracket matches along with the Winners Bracket final will be played tomorrow, while the Grand Final match series are scheduled for Sunday, September 7th.
