The final round of the TI4 groupstage is upon us, and the remaining games can have a massive impact on the final standings. After their victory against Na'Vi, Alliance now has a final chance of survival against EG, who need a victory to secure the second place and a ticket to the Winners Bracket of the main event.
With only four games left until the conclusion of the TI4 groupstage, four teams have already been eliminated from the event - Empire, Fnatic, Na'Vi.NA and Arrow can no longer proceed in the tournament. When it comes to Alliance and Mouz, both teams can force a tiebreaker if they manage to win their final battles.
Alliance will be going against the American favourites EG, a team currently tied with DK for the second place of the tournament. Shall they lose their match against Alliance, DK will earn the second spot and a direct ticket to the Winners Bracket of the TI4 Main Event. This situation was caused by DK's victory against the Americans using a pocket strategy with Mushi's signature Ursa pick.
Just like Alliance, Mouz will also go against an American squad, this time Team Liquid. BuLba's boys have already secured their place in Phase III, and they only have to worry about their final groupstage placement going into the match. Mousesports is desperate for a victory as it is the only way thet can get tied with LGD.
The news is good for ViCi Gaming fans, as the Chinese have guaranteed a top-two finish, even if they get defeated by Invictus Gaming. However, if EG gets defeated by Alliance, a tiebreaker may also be needed to determine the second team to end in the top-two. While the head-to-head results can deal with the situation, Valve's policy in similar ties during the TI4 Qualifiers forced tiebreaker matches.
