TI4 participants and playoffs top-seeds Arrow Gaming and Titan were both held down into 0-2 defeats by their opponents on the Good Play Gaming tournament. They will face each other in an elimination best-of-three match on the lower bracket tonight at 15:00 CEST (21:00 SGT).
Entering the playoffs as the top seed, Titan looked shaky as their best as they were defeated 0-2 by fourth-seed MiTH.Trust the other day. The veteran Thai-team was actually sporting two new members, but they have completely controlled both games. Despite the second being a really close one, MiTH held the momentum and was a tough wall to crack with their Ember Spirit holding a Divine Rapier.
That was not the only upset in the first round of the upper bracket for this tournament. Invasion Gaming continued to surprise, this time by defeating Arrow Gaming with a score of 2-0. They have completely dominated the first game, and have shown exemplary discipline while playing under pressure on the second. With that win, Invasion team finished 4-0 against fellow Malaysian team Arrow Gaming yesterday after also sweeping them on another tournament.
Titan and Arrow will be on an elimination match this coming Tuesday, 24 June, as they battle each other on the best-of-three, first round lower bracket match. The match is scheduled at 15:00 CEST (21:00 SGT).
The loser of the lower bracket's first round match will end up finishing fourth, and but they won't leave empty handed as they will also get $620. The winner of course will keep their hopes alive, and will go on to face the loser of the MiTH-Invasion match this coming 25 July. The champion, runner-up and third placer of this tournament will get $3,100~, $1,550~ and $930~ respectively.
