17173 announces $15,000 V Games Tournament #2, begins on June 2nd

Chinese portal, 17173, has announced the second season of VGT, also known as V Games Tournament - an online tournament that will pit 12 Chinese teams against each other.

17173 will be hosts to 12 of the best Chinese teams who will compete for a prize-pool of ~$15,500 in the second season of V Games Tournament, scheduled to be held between June 2nd - June 25th, 2014. These teams will be divided into four groups and will compete against each other in a best-of-one round robin format.

Thereon, top 2 teams from each group will advance into the play-offs that will follow of a single elimination best-of-three format throughout the entirety of the tournament. No teams will walk away empty handed as every team will earn some amount from the prize purse.

In the inaugural season, Vici Gaming managed to triumph over their Chinese compatriots and won a bounty of ~$3,200 for the first place finish. The prize pool has since then nearly doubled up overall and is looking better as compared to its predecessor. The livestream will be broadcasted by BeyondTheSummit.

Prize pool distribution:

1st: 50,000 RMB (~$8,005)
2nd: 20,000 RMB ($~3,202)
3rd: 10,000 RMB (~$1,601)
4th: 5,000 RMB (~$800)
5th-8th: 2,000 RMB (~$320)
9th-12th: 1,000 RMB (~$160)

Note - Schedule is most likely to be changed to accomodate WPC-ACE finals on June 2nd.
