MVP.Hot6 forfeits KDL match after breaking rematch rules

MVP.Hot6 recently forfeited a match against Dagon Five due to violating Korean eSports Association rules in the Korean Dota 2 League. KesPA will be taking several countermeasures to ensure that players and officials are educated prior to matches being played.

In a match between MVP.Hot6 and Dagon Five, MVP.Hot6 has been forced to forfeit the match due to violating rematch rules instated by Nexon in the KDL. On May 27th, server instabilities led to the game being paused and then remade just after the game began. The rules state that in the event of a remake, the wards, items, and hero picks must all be the same. Although Dagon Five followed instructions, MVP placed their wards in different locations while Jakiro slightly altered his starting items. Officials did not notice the discrepancy until after the game was finished.

Nexon has decided to take several steps to ensure that both officials and players are aware of the rules and abide by them. In their statement, they vow to rectify the mistakes they have made by making new rules for officiating, requiring officials to submit themselves to a test every season. They will also be taking steps to make sure players understand the rules prior to beginning the tournament.
