$3,000 datBet Championship main event ongoing

The main event of the $3,000 datBet Championship is already ongoing as the two-week double-elimination tournament had its first game yesterday. Twelve of the teams were directly invited, while four went in from the qualifiers.

After the qualifiers finished a few weeks ago, we are now moving in into the main event o f the $3,000 DatBet Championship. It is a 16-team tournament, with all but four teams being directly invited. The teams who advanced from the qualifiers are Indonesian-teams Garuda and Zero Latitude, Malaysian-team Invasion, and the relatively unknown Singaporean-team Sexist.

Orange was initially invited into the tournament, but they forfeited their slot because of a schedule conflict with WPC-ACE. They were replaced by Vietnamese team StarsBoba.  It turns out, however, that Orange still would have been able to participate as the tournament is pushed back from 5-16 May into 21 May-5 June. This was done because of the TI4 SEA qualifiers which took place 16-19 May, as eight of the ten participants of that qualifier are part of this tournament.

The favorites are The International 4 invited team Titan and the SEA qualifier winner Arrow Gaming, but other teams are surely looking forward for the chance to show that they can compete against the best.

This sixteen-team tournament will have $3,000 divided across the top three finishers - $1,500 for the champion, $1,000 for the runner-up and $500 for the second runner-up.
