$3,000 Corsair Asia Cup ongoing, 20 teams competing

The Corsair Asia cup is currently ongoing, wherein 20 Asian teams are battling it out for the $3,000 prize pool. It is following a double-elimination format, as opposed to the multi-stage format that was earlier announced.

20 teams with at least 11 different nationalities are currently competing in the $3,000 Corsair Asia Cup. Nine of these teams were directly invited, while the rest advanced from the qualifiers. Originally a multi-stage tournament consisting of a group stage and a single-elimination playoffs, the tournament is now following a double-elimination format.

The tournament quietly started two days ago, and a total of three matches have finished since. Perhaps the most notable one was MVP.Phoenix's 2-1 victory against LGD.CDEC. Four matches are scheduled today, 1 May, starting at 19:00 SGT (13:00 CET).

You can view the full tournament bracket here.

The Champion will receive $1,500, while the second and third place team $1,000 and $500 respectively. The $3,000 cash prize pool is on a par with The Inaugural and not far behind the ACG best-of-the-best invitational, which had a $3,500 prize pool and is the best-paying Southeast Asian tournament so far this year. Aside from the cash, hardware will also be given away to the top three teams.

The tournament can be viewed through DotaTV. The tickets are sold in the store at $1.49 each.
