Virtus.Pro and NEXT.KZ advance to TechLabs Cup LAN finals

NEXT.Kz and Virtus.Pro are the winners of the TechLabs Cup 2014 qualifiers, concluding a week of exciting matches. They will be joining the invited teams Empire and RoX.KIS in the Moscow LAN event, to battle for the $20,000 prize pool.

TechLabs Cup 2014 will take place this weekend in Moscow, and four European challengers will battle for the $20,000. So far, the only known participants were the invited Team Empire and RoX.KIS. The rest were to be decided by the week-long qualifiers that took place the closing week of March. In the end, NEXT.Kz and Virtus.Pro managed to overcome all the obstacles and reach the LAN finals of TechLabs Cup.

This year has so far been successful for the squad from Kazakhstan, NEXT.Kz, as they have shown some great results in many European competitions (they were the team to put an end to Team Empire's win streak). Their impressive performance was evident in the qualifiers of TechLabs Cup, as they only dropped one game in the whole bracket. They reached the LAN finals through the Winners Bracket final against the second team to secure a ticket to Moscow finals, Virtus.Pro. The Russian veterans were able to defeat all their opponents but NEXT.Kz with a score of 2-0. Despite their defeat, it seems they are finally showing some signs of life after a discouraging slump the past months, further proved by their victory over Alliance in DreamLeague earlier today.
