ESL One Frankfurt will feature an open qualifier for both Europe and America, with four teams from each region advancing to the next round. The main qualifier round will feature 16 teams from Europe and 8 from America battling for a ticket to Frankfurt.
The ESL One tournament will be held on June 28th in Commerzbank Arena, Frankfurt. The production managers of the event have released additional information about the tournament's qualifiers, which will determine the remaining six squads that will join Natus Vincere and Alliance in the main event.
The qualifiers will be divided in two parts :
- The Open Qualifier : The first stage of the qualifiers is a big online open bracket for European and American teams, which will take place from April 4th to April 5th and will conclude with four teams from Europe and four from America being seeded into the second round of the qualifiers.
- The Main Qualifier : The European participants of the qualifier (16 in total, 4 from open qualifiers and 12 invited) will be split into four groups of four teams. The top teams of each group will be battling each other (Group A against Group B, Group C against Group D) for two spots in Frankfurt. The losers of the two matches as well as the second and third placers of the groups will be participating in a single-elimination bracket for the final European ticket to ESL One. The American participants (8 in total - 4 from open qualifiers and 4 invited) will consist of a single elimination bracket, and the winner will be joining the rest of the squads in June.
