The Chinese squads iG and LGD are about to write the epilogue of the Netolic Pro League #5 East. The best-of-five grand final will take place on March 28th, and will determine the final distribution of the $10,700+ prize pool.
The fifth season of Netolic Pro League East has almost reached its conclusion, after almost a month of playoffs between eight participants from China and SEA. The double-elimination bracket offered 13 entertaining battles and several upsets, leading to the grand final between iG and LGD on March 28th.
The first team to be eliminated was Arrow Gaming from Malaysia, losing both matches against LGD and CNB. Newbee kicked Scythe out of the tournament as well, with Titan becoming the last SEA survivor of the playoffs. Nonetheless, they were unable to avenge the two fallen SEA competitors, losing to NewBee as well. It was time for iG to shine, as they were able to overcome all their Lower Bracket obstacles, showing the door to CNB, NewBee and ultimately Vici Gaming (the team that sent them to the LB). The three victories allow iG to grab the precious spot in the Grand Final against the undefeated LGD.
The best-of-five Grand Final between iG and LGD will take place on March 28th, at 12:00 CET. LGD will have a 1-0 Winners Bracket advantage, However, the historic advantage belongs to iG, as they have won all their previous encounters against LGD since the second season of Sina Cup, back in December 2013.
Live broadcasting of the games is provided by Netolic via Dailymotion in English, Russian, Chinese and Spanish.
