Mineski changes player, will be competing for final ACG playoffs slot tomorrow

Mineski is one of the four teams in group D that will have a match tomorrow, with three of them aiming to get the final playoff spot. Seven out of the eight slots are already determined, as the top two teams in the first three groups and the top team of the last is already set.

The first two groups have already finished their round-robin, while the latter two groups still have two games apiece. The playoff-bound teams, including the seeds, have already been determined for group C though, as Scythe will have the advantage on RRQ having earned a win over the latter, in the event the Singaporean team loses their final match 0-2.

The second playoff slot for Group D is still in contest. With Arrow Gaming securing a top seed, a tie is still possible for the second slot. There are several scenarios, many of which will stem only if Mineski loses.

  • Mineski wins against Everlast = Mineski advances
  • Mineski loses against Everlast 1-2, and Zero Latitude wins against Vie Genuis 2-0= Mineski and zL face each other on a tiebreak
  • Mineski loses against Everlast 1-2, and Zero Latitude fails to win 2-0 against Genius = Mineski advances
  • Mineski loses against Everlast 0-2, and Zero Latitude wins against Vie Genuis 2-0= Everlast and zL face each other on a tiebreak
  • Mineski loses against Everlast 0-2, and Zero Latitude fails to win 2-0 against Genius = Everlast advances

Knowing the importance of this match, Mineski has decided to move forward and formally bid goodbye to two of their players. Julius 'Julz' De Leon and Joven 'Joven' Pancho, both players of the Mineski team who won GMPGL SEA and placed second at ACG last year, will no longer play for them. Taking the slot they voided are long-time sixth man Gio 'G?' Ramolete and their newest addition, Richard 'Paseo' Minowa. Minowa was last seen playing under team Pacific, on which he was the captain. Mineski has also flown to Malaysia for a bootcamp.

The winning team of this tournament will walk away with $2,000, while the runner-up and third placer will receive $1,000 and $500 respectively. Merchandise will also be given away, among which are Dota 2 HeroClix Starter sets for all participants.
