Another chance for the amateur teams to get busy has risen, as AMD is organizing the first season of DotA Pit. The tournament will start on March 30, lasting until the last week of April with $3000 up for grabs.
A new opportunity has emerged for the amateur and established DotA2 teams, with AMD hosting a new online tournament. With the codename "DotA Pit", the tournament will last for almost a month starting the first weekend of March and ending late in April.
Here is the detailed schedule of the tournament:
Qualification Stage (Single Elimination Phase) – Last Weekend in March 2014
Group Stages – 1st and 2nd Week of April 2014
Round of 16, Quarter-finals – 3rd Week of April 2014
Semi-finals, Finals, Match for 3rd Place – 4th Week of April 2014
The qualification and group stage matches, as well as the quarter, semi, and consolation finals will be in best-of-three format. The grand final will be a best-of-five match.
Eight groups will be formed out of 32 participants, with 16 coming from the qualifiers and 16 receiving a direct invite. Only 16 of these teams will qualify for the final stage, which will last for two weeks. To reach the Round-of-16, the teams must finish in one of the first two spots of their group.
No information has been released yet for live casting of the tournament, however a DotaTV ticket bundle will be released including two items, one for Vengeful Spirit and one for Puck. If you like these items you can upvote them in the workshop (Link 1 | Link2)
