The winning streak continues for DK and iG while LGD.Int hit an all-time low seventh placing. RisingStars was very close in tying their series against iG but a small misplay was all iG needed to finish 2-0.
Playtime 8 recap
The playtime started with DK taking on LGD International. Being one of the matches to look out for this playtime, LGD.Int did not live up to expectations and lost to DK's superior laning phase in both games. DK only took a little over 30 minutes for the first game and a little over 20 in the second. The win solidified DK's first position in the WPC-ACE League while LGD.Int dropped to seventh place, their all-time low. (VODs)
Similarly, both LGD.cn and Vici Gaming had no problems dispatching Team Adidas and Rattlesnake respectively in their meeting on the 19th of October. With the loss, Rattlesnake and Adidas are both still scraping the bottom end of the table while LGD.cn and Vici Gaming are placed fourth and fifth in the standings respectively.
A game worth mentioning in this playtime is game one between Cupid's Heart and TongFu. Despite weeks of disappointment, HGT pulled a quick one in the laning phase and had a significant advantage in terms of kills over TongFu. As Litt-Binn 'WinteR' Chan said on BeyondTheSummit's livestream, HGT's draft eventually lost them the game as the heroes they picked were not good enough to keep up with TongFu during mid-game. HGT eventually lost game one and subsequently game two to stay second last in the standings. TongFu on the other hand, moved into third place. (draft information)
The best game of this playtime handily goes to RisingStars and Invictus Gaming. After split pushing the living hell out of Rstars in game one, Invictus Gaming held a commanding lead throughout most of game two until Rstars responded with an overfarmed Troll Warlord. iG's attempt to go high ground were constantly repelled by great plays from Earthshaker and Elder Titan, and as a result, the game was dragged into ultra late phase. It was a scary moment when Troll nearly killed Gyrocopter in three ranged hits but a loss of patience and misplay by Rstars ended in their demise. (draft information)
