The second phase of the GMPGL qualifier has concluded, and we are now down to the final sixteen teams of the tournament. The qualifier will assume a double-elimination format from hereon, with the top four teams winning themselves a trip to Manila, Philippines for the GMPGL SEA Finals.
The second phase was composed of teams who were either invited or have won a wildcard slot. It was a forgiving stage, wherein ten of the twelve teams were able to advance to the following round. Every team who was able to manage a win on their respective group made it through, and being eliminated were the winless teams in Brunei's Revival.uMs and Myanmar's BabySwag.
These ten teams now join the six seeded teams, all leaders on the season points of their county's respective GMPGL qualifiers, into a double-elimination tournament. The games on the upper bracket will be played on a best-of-three series, while the games on the lower bracket will be on a best-of-one match.
The top four teams on the qualifiers will win themselves a trip to the Philippines for the GMPGL SEA Finals. It will be held on 9-10 November at SM North Edsa's Skydome. The qualifying teams will square off against themselves and at least two other Filipino teams, wherein they will compete for a prize pool of $10,000.
