Virtus.pro beats Team Dignitas two to nothing in the first match of the day. The second match is Kaipi vs EG, starting at 21 CEST.
Virtus.pro just beat Team Dignitas 2-0 and moves on to the upper bracket semi final, facing the winner of Kaipi and Evil Geniuses. Dignitas drops down to the lowers vs the loser of said match. Unfortunately, dignitas could not deliver their A-game in the first map due to constant disconnects. They forfeited early on but came back looking more solid in game two. However, Virtus.pro played very patient and calculated Dota, bringing the Echo Slams back into play.
In the second match of the day, Kaipi delivered some impressive action, especially in the second game where they picked up both Timbersaw and Spirit Breaker. Worth mentioning is that Timbersaw was banned out by EG in the first phase the other two games. Kaipi remains in the upper bracket while EG drops down to the lower.

Match report - Team Dignitas vs Virtus.pro
Game 1
Both teams started out with their trilanes going top, leaving KSi vs Universe in the bot lane. While the supports of VP were picking off creeps in the jungle, Dignitas threw down their thunder on Illidan and claimed the first blood. A big misscalculation at bot lane resulted in VP getting 4 kills using their global presence, Chen creeps and Puck's arsenal. On top of that, they snuck around in the Radiant jungle and found themselves a kill on the enemy courier. At this point, VP had as many as three observer wards in dignitas' jungle. With an early Medallion, VP killed off Roshan before minute 11 but lost Illidan who were farming top at the time. With the Aegis at Puck, VP went to push the issue at bot lane where they outplayed dignitas in a clash. Throughout the game, dignitas had issues with their players disconnecting and calls the early good game after that clash, only 12 minutes in.
Game 2
Virtus.pro were dead set right away on Dignitas abandoning the bot lane completely, hence them sending Prophet into the jungle and Earthshaker to get some experience top. Aui on the farming Venge went diving behind the tower with his Phase Boots and grabbing the first blood solo on Earthshaker. Dragon Knight took a solo kill on Shadow Fiend in mid as a trade though and VP pushed down the mid tower with KSi teleporting in to take the last hit. Another dive on top resulted in another dead Earthshaker, but a double scroll teleport + Prophet punished the gank by taking down two of dignitas' heroes.
At this point, hectic ganks happened all over the map, the teams trading somewhat evenly. Both teams lost their three outer towers before minute 14. Doom successfully used his ultimate to gank Outworld twice so far in the game. Dignitas picked off Roshan very quickly and advanced out at the bot lane, proceeding towards VP's tier two tower. A clash broke out with VP initating with the Global Silence but did not find any kills during it, causing them to overextend a losing a few heroes to Sneyking. Throughout the engagement, KSi picked off a triple kill in the backlines though.
KSi took a head-on one-vs-one fight with Sneyking top and then retreating, confusing Dignitas and averting the attention from the fact that the rest of VP smoked up and went to kill Aui bot. With Dignitas heroes plus the advantage of playing as Dire, they easily took down another Roshan at minute 26. VP however pushed down a tier 2 tower top as a trade. VP tried to avoid clashes while the Aegis was online, trading towers as dignitas went pushing. They then attempted to kill off Aui once again but this time he had the Black King Bar and the rest of the team rotated there quickly, saving Aui and dropping two of VP's heroes. Dignitas went for the mid push, looking to take barracks. The melee barrack went down but Universe overextended slightly and got stunned by Dragon Knight. Aui swapped him out of danger, used Black King Bar and teleported back to base. Since KSi solo pushed bottom, managing take down a melee barracks himself, all of dignitas started teleporting back. However, NS interrupted Doom's and Visage's porting and VP brought them down.
A failed push by VP granted dignitas a third Aegis, which then resulted and VP kept doding fights. A deciding fight went down on top lane after lots of dodging, Bane gets stunned and Echo Slam + Sanity's Eclipse went down on most of dignitas' heroes without them using their BKBs. VP proceeded to grab mega creeps for themselves, but then lost NS without his buyback ready. Dignitas went for the base race with VP only having a solo Prophet pushing. Granted Prophet was really stacked and had mega creeps to back him up and with his team stalling dignitas, managed to take the throne first. Virtus.pro took the series, 2-0.

Match report - Kaipi vs Evil Geniuses
Game 1
Due to EG running a greedy line-up with both Bat and Prophet in the jungle, Kaipi rotated their supports down to the bot lane, leaving Envy to farm uncontested top. DeMoN eventually rotated to the Dire jungle instead while Bamboe moved out to the top lane, which opened up for Kaipi to gank mid. However, they missjudged the situation, causing Jeyo to grab first blood on Naga just before falling to Arteezy. The rotations kept up though, finding additional on both SF and Bounty. After dying, Bounty teleported top with Prophet and grabbed two track kills.
The greedy line-up eventually started to pay off especially with the additional track kills and Bamboe killing the enemy courier at the fountain. Kaipi were still in the lead in terms of towers and as soon as Naga reached her delayed level 6, Kaipi used the ultimate for a quick double kill. Needless to say, Kaipi's line-up was also quite greedy, relying on their three carries of Gyro, Lifestealer and Weaver. EG stacked up a lot of negative armor with Fear picking up Desolator as his first item. Interesting enough, Kaipi also went for stacking a bit of negative armor, with Riptide, Medallion and the Swarm.
The game is rather heavily in EG's favour, with gold from track kills, multiple courier kills as well as decent Roshan and allround decent farming. EG kept up the pressure while farming their SF and Prophet, although Envy's Gyro still had the most last hits on the map. EG had the map control advantage, destroyed the tier 3 tower mid and went on to take Roshan. The final fight happened right after, Naga caught everyone close together with her sleep and Kaipi prepared the call down. Shadow Fiend instantly BKB'd and started going to town on Kaipi's heroes and the focused damage was simply lacking. Bdiz went down but that was about it. Not even after buying back could Arteezy finish the 100 hp Shadow Fiend. Kaipi forfeited and EG claimed game one.
Game 2
As promised earlier today, some highly unconventional picks were seen. Kaipi picked Timbersaw and Spiritbreaker for themselves while Evil Geniuses responded with Bloodseeker. A greedy line-up yet again by EG. First blood occured in Radiant's jungle where Kaipi caught DeMoN sneaking around and used Dust to spot and kill him. Spiritbreaker charged all over the place but it took a few attempts (and a few levels) before it resulted in a kill. Great rotation by Bloodseeker and Prophet gives EG two kills in return though when Kaipi had two heroes diving under the enemy tower. After that point, the global chaos spoke in Kaipi's favour, resulting in kills in most attempts.
Highly entertaining ganks, needed to be said, suddenly a Clockwerk hooking in, a mad cow running furiously and a Goblin throwing down a huge saw blade. Kaipi still had a decently farmed Alchemist with a Battlefury to fall back on in case all the ganks would not be enough. EG tried to respond with kills of their own but their line-up proved to lack the quick damage and the lockdown to do so while Clockwerk and Timbersaw constantly disrupted their rhythm. Clockwerk finished up an Orchid as his first item. Fear was rather farmed but the confusingly-scratching-their-heads while Kaipi pulling off a crazy strategy-factor ended up being too big. Kaipi's global ganks and massive presence proved to be enough to steam roll EG. 1-1.

Game 3
After the refreshing game 2, things went back to normal with the last deciding game. EG denied all craziness by banning Timbersaw and Spirit Breaker first. Arteezy went top instead of the usual mid, Kaipi instead sent bOne7's Clock mid. EG put Bamboe in the enemy jungle. Jeyo with some swift play claimed the first blood mid all by himself. Even though Jeyo's Juggernat were doing great mid, the rest of the team struggled and Kaipi got the better experience and gold while also having the easier line-up to pull off. Although with Midas on the bear, on the Prophet and Track on the Hunter, the situation was not completely lost yet.
Demon noticed Kaipi moving towards the Rosh pit, went in for a Track but got dusted and locked down in a cog. With Demon dead, Kaipi finished off Roshan in the matter of seconds due to the Desolator on Templar Assassin. With the Aegis in their pocket, Kaipi advanced midlane where they found a few kills on EG's key heroes, forcing buybacks from both Jeyo and Fear. EG's line-up lacked stuns, lockdowns and proper nukes, they would have very much needed that Spirit Bear to be a lot more farmed than he was. Arteezy overextended vastly mid and EG throw both Overgrowth and Omnislash to bring him down and then proceeded with a mid push. Arteezy bought back and ported in just as bOne7 hooked in and caught EG in a cog, causing Kaipi to overthrow EG yet another clash. All while Envy was pushing barracks bottom. Evil Geniuses called "good game" shortly after and Kaipi remains in the upper bracket, next match vs Virtus.pro.
