TongFu and Orange finish in 5th-6th in Alienware Cup

Neolution.Orange and TongFu finished 5th-6th place in the Alienware Cup, settling for $3,000 in cash after losing their match against Invictus Gaming and DK respectively. This leaves four participants left in the Alienware cup in what seems to be a complete remake of the final stages of The International 2 bracket.

Prior to the game, 56% of the branches were placed on iG to win Neolution.Orange and despite the odds being so close, the match certainly was not. The majority of the votes will be saved while 120 people lost their bet today. DK on the other hand, held 69% of the branches entrusted to them and despite losing their first game, they bounced back in game two and game three to move on.

The following is a small summary of what happened in the games today. The VODs will be available on the Gosubet page whenever it is made available.

NeoES.Orange versus Invictus Gaming

(Draft here)

Orange drafted a pre-6.78 patch line-up consisting of Lifestealer and Lone Druid as their core hero in game one but it did not work out in effectively. The Malaysians intended to push down towers early but that was repeatedly repelled by Treant Protector's Living Armor. Orange took down their first tower at 20 minutes and despite the big farming lead they got prior to the pushes, iG slowly made their way back, protecting their towers and farming safely. iG took game one after taking on some well-timed fights as Orange came charging in.

The second game in contrary, was rather quiet for the first 20 minutes although iG did pull of some spectacular smoke ganks to kill the Templar Assassin multiple times. Due to the long disarment, Templar Assassin took some time to farm back into the game but at the same time, Anti-Mage with Battlefury in hand was able to farm up a storm. iG dragged the game until Anti-Mage was six-slotted before pushing in for the win. Orange had no chance against an overfarmed Anti-Mage.

DK vs TongFu

(Draft here)

Game one between the finalist of the Dota 2 Super League was rather one-sided with TongFu leading out in the laning phase which in turn, led to an early Black King Bar for the Dragon Knight. While TongFu was gunning for the middle tier-two, DK pulled off a perfect initiation, Ice Path on three heroes, Torrent on two to a Vacuum and Ship by Kunkka. However, due to the farm TongFu players were allowed to have prior to the fight, none of them died because of the Rage by Lifestealer and BKB by Dragon Knight.

DK bounced back in game two with the Spectre pick and Burning went straight to work farming up a Vanguard, Treads and Radiance in less than 24 minutes. Although TongFu had some fighting capability to go on DK prior to the purchase, TongFu had no chance to fight against the overly farmed Spectre despite how tanky their line-up is. TongFu did eventually picked Spectre off but the immediate buy back and Haunt later, DK was able to turn the fight around and forced out the gg from TongFu.

The third game was the most even game of the series. Both teams were back and forth for the first 20 minutes and DK only had two kills lead on TongFu. After engaging on DK while defending their tier-one tower on the bottom lane, DK was able to come on top in that fight despite TongFu got off the best start to the battle. DK choked TongFu in their base and took their time to farm while securing a couple of Roshans. The final fight that forced the white flag was initiated by TongFu. The Batrider was able to isolate Dragon Knight through double Force Staff and despite the whole team throwing everything they got on him, they could not kill him off. DK came in to clean up and the game was over.

Bracket

The Alienware Cup will take an one day break tomorrow and will resume on the 7th with the winner bracket final between LGD.cn and Na`Vi, and loser bracket semis between DK and iG. Looking back at the bracket of the Alienware Cup, the bracket from here onwards resembles to the final stages of The International 2 in which iG took first place at the end of it all. Na`Vi finished second in The International 2 followed by LGD.cn and DK on third and fourth.
