LGD through to Dota 2 Super League playoffs

?LGD.cn has successfully overcome the obstacle of NeoES.Orange, securing their place in Super League play-offs with two convincing wins. Orange must now face LGD.int tomorrow for the last remaining spot of the playoffs.

The Chinese powerhouse LGD took down NeoES.Orange in two convincing wins, proving that they are a serious competitor for the tournament. LGD will join DK and TongFu in the playoffs,

The previous encounter of the two teams was at G-1 League LAN playoffs, where the Chinese took both encounters with notable ease. However, nobody can underestimate the power of Mushi and his crew.

When it comes to Gosubet, LGD.cn was clearly the favored team with 64%. This time, the percentages were correct, with Orange dropping their game and burning the 8992 branches previously owned by the 73 people who bet on the Malaysians.

Orange still has a chance to advance, but they will have to face LGD.int in a BO3 matchup for the precious spot in the tournament playoffs. The playoffs bracket will be drawn tomorrow after the Orange - LGD.int game at 14.00 CEST, in which the winner will move forward to meet the other three finalists of Dota 2 Super League.

Match report

Game 1

The Malaysians made certain hero selections, aiming to win the mid and bottom lane with a really aggressive trilane and Queen of Pain mid, in order to give enough space for Ky.Xy's Antimage. On the other hand, LGD decided to choose a more teamfight oriented line-up, with Dark Seer, Visage and Beastmaster in their ranks.

The first blood was drawn by Mushi, taking down xiao8 in a solo-vs-solo encounter just five minutes into the game. The Chinese responded with a four-man assault against Orange trilane, grabbing an easy kill on Net's Nyx Assassin. However, the lane domination kept forcing the Chinese into fights without potential, eventually leading in a free-farming Antimage under the protection of the Dire easy lane.

A smile appeared on the faces of LGD.cn briefly 18 minutes in, when they rotated mid to execute a well-coordinated assault against Mushi's Queen of Pain, who went down pretty fast, taking down two of his allies that came to get him out of trouble. Orange attempted the same stunt on Sylar's Spectre a minute later, but Yao's timed Mekansm turned the fight around. The fight ended 3-1 in favor of LGD.cn, forging a score of 11-6 just as the game hit the 20th minute mark.

The advantage gained by the successful teamfights helped LGD cross the river with more confidence, forcing another fight next to the middle tier-two. Despite the farmed Antimage's contribution, LGD still won a 2-0 fight, taking down the tower as well. The dead tower gave another boost to LGD, and the map control seemed to be completely possessed by the Chinese. Sylar picked up the Radiance, accompanied by the 26-minute Scythe of Vise by Yao.

Bring ahead in both gold and experience by a long margin, it was just a matter of time for Sylar's Spectre to get too big. Winning fight after fight, the Chinese carry got out of control fast, making it impossible for Ky.xy to take him down in a teamfight. LGD cn, aware of this priviledge, did not rush to win the game. Taking their time, they build up their inventory until they push to win. The time came with a 43-minute Roshan, and a teamfight near Orange's bottom barracks. The Malaysians were completely overwhelmed, suffering crushing defeat and calling the gg for the first game.

Game 2

This time it was LGD who picked the Antimage, aiming for a traditional four-protect-one strategy, placing Nyx Assassin and Dark Seer in the solo lanes. Unlike Orange, however, they placed ANtimage in the trilane, using its potential to get him early kills, making the snowball farming even faster. The first blood was drawn three minutes into the game, when the expected aggressiveness by Orange's trilane resulted in two kills on the supports.

With so much pressure being applied against LGD's trilane, and the Chinese not finding the kills they want to boost their supports, Nyx and Dark Seer had to pay frequent visits to the top lane to clear the path for the Antimage.

The Malaysians kept attempting to interrupt Sylar's farming with constant ganks, delaying his Battlefury significantly. Eventually he managed to complete it by minute 22, hoping to get back into the game fast enough for LGD to stop Orange's rampant assaults across the river.

What followed was an impressive turtle game by the Chinese. Using their supports and gankers, they were able to buy Sylar enough time to farm a fast Manta Style and Vladimir's Offering. His constant split pushing, combined with LGD's selective assaults around the map, completely turned the tides of the game. This became obvious for the first time 35 minutes into the game, when LGD took their first completely one sided 2-0 fight under their bottom tier-two, giving them a free Roshan as well.

It all went downhill for Orange after this point. The Chinese exceptional play in the next teamfight resulted in a 4-0 massacre against Orange, followed by two more kills for LGD after the buybacks. However, the barracks survived for the time being.

Orange decided it was now or never for Game two, and they moved to confront LGD near the Rosh pit 40 minutes into the game. The fight ended in complete and utter domination by LGD, with Sylar's Antimage getting a triple kill, stripping their Malaysians of every hope for the game. Orange did not fight further, and conceded, giving the second win to the Chinese.
