IEM Katowice 2017 announced

Find out the details of this coming year's edition of the hugely popular IEM Katowice CS:GO tournament.

Another $250,000 prize pool will be on the line with the announcement of Intel Extreme Masters Katowice 2017, one of the iconic tournaments in the CS:GO tournament circuit. This year the Spodek arena will play host to twelve of the top teams in the world competing for the event's title, eight of which will recieve invites while the remainder will be determined through qualifiers.

The tournament will follow a relatively standard format; the teams will be divided in half for the round-robin B01 group stage, leaving six teams in each group to fight for the three spots for each group in the playoffs. The top team in each group will be seeded into the semifinals of the playoffs bracket, while the remaining teams will earn spots in the round-of-6.

Katowice 2017 will span a total of five days, with games kicking off in closed studio on March 1st through the 2nd, while March 3rd-5th will see the playoffs on stage in the Spodek. Tickets are still on sale, the link to which can be found here.
