WESG Finals dates announced

The WESG Finals will take place at the Olympic Center in Changzhou, China, from January 12th - 15th; and will feature 24 teams competing over a $1,500,000 prize purse.

Teams from regions around the world will compete in the World Electronic Sports Games Global Finals in a best of 2 round-robin tournament format. Each of the 24 teams will be placed into one of four groups, with six teams per group. The team that secures first place in each group will automatically secure a position in the quarter-finals, while those who are in second and third place will go head-to-head to secure one of the remaining four playoff spots. As the tournament progresses into the quarter-finals, the format will revert to the standard best of 3, single-elimination bracket.

The tournament will feature a number of familiar faces in peculiar environments, due to the nature of the event. Teams that participate in the WESG Finals are restricted to players of the same nationality, based on the country the team represents. From the participants, the ex-Dignitas roster, Virtus.pro, TyLoo, and Selfless, among others; will all feature their full line-ups.
