ECS Season 2 Finals participants determined

The regular season of ECS Season 2 has been concluded with the top four teams from each division advancing to the season finals.

ECS Season 2 began with two divisions, North America and Europe. Ten teams in each division played against each using a best-of-two round-robin formatting. Top four teams from each division grabbed tickets for season finals which will be held Anaheim, California between 9-11 December.

Team Liquid finished the North American division 6th, behind Immortals and OpTic Gaming that placed 3rd and 4th respectively. Things went more complicated on the other side of the Atlantic where six teams ended the regular season with 8 wins and 10 loses. dignitas secured their spot in the season finals as they had a higher round difference than G2, GODSENT, mousesports, NiP and Virtus.pro. With these results, five out of eight finalists of last season, including the winner G2, have lost their chance to compete for the lion's share of $750,000 prize pool.
