ESL Expo Barcelona announced

ESL, together with GSMA's Mobile World Congress, is bringing eSports back to Barcelona in late February.

ESL has announced plans to team up with GSMA's Mobile World Congress in Barcelona to bring League of Legends and Counter Strike: Global Offensive to Spain. Scheduled to take place over three days, February 19th-21st, at the Fira Barcelona Montjuïc trade fair institution, the participating teams will be competing for a share of the €80,000 prize pool for the respective tournaments.

The event will house the Barcelona CS:GO Invitational presented by Mobile World Congress and will include eight CS:GO teams. Four international teams will receive invites, along with two European and two Spanish teams. Fnatic and Team EnVyUs are already confirmed to be attending.

Sebastian Radu, MD of ESL Spain and ESL LATAM, is quoted as saying of the event:

Connecting esports tournaments to events like the prestigious Mobile World Congress is a very exciting new step on our road to further popularize esports. Reaching new audiences, engaging them in new way, going to places undiscovered yet by the industry - that’s what the partnership between GSMA and ESL is about. ESL Expo Barcelona presented by Mobile World Congress is already our third joint event, and being held in a proven and full of esports potential territory like Spain, we’re confident the future is bright and full of opportunities for both GSMA and ESL.
