The first semi final match was played between the refreshed roster of Fnatic and Virtus.Pro, who came to this event after a not-so-great performance at IEM San Jose. Doing the map veto, Virtus.Pro decided to play on de_mirage and Fnatic on de_inferno. The decider map was de_cache.

On de_mirage Fnatic started off on the T-side by securing a pistol round, which was quickly returned by Virtus.Pro as their force buy worked perfectly fine. From this moment on, the whole first half was back-and-forth. Teams were exchanging rounds and even on lost rounds, the economical damage done was immense, keeping both banks relatively low. The second half featured Fnatic taking another pistol round, but they once again managed to lose the following round and Virtus.Pro had full control of this map from this point on. In the end they closed de_mirage with a 16-11 victory giving them a 1-0 lead.

The second map was de_inferno where Fnatic now had the privilege to start on the CT-side. They once again won the pistol round and just snowballed through this half resulting in a huge lead of 13-2. However, the road was a bit rocky as Virtus.Pro was repeatedly close to securing rounds with Tec-9 force buys. Not playing into their favor, timing was a frequent problem as well as key shots not being on point. Anyway, the Polish team had secured the second half pistol round and kept themselves in the game. But, with the first full buy Fnatic just continued where they stopped at the end of the first half and Virtus.pro couldn't do much but to capitulate to their Swedish opponents with a score 16-10.

The third map, which was de_cache once again featured a very strong CT-side by Fnatic. Moreover, they won both pistol rounds to summ up the statistics to 5/6 in this best-of-three series. Due to a broken economy, Virtus.Pro was forced to rely on their Desert Eagle force buys every now and then. But, although they had individual success with pistols, they still couldn't close those rounds out as they failed on pre-flashing and positioning themselves well after plants. Fnatic was using every single gap in Virtus.Pro's play and in the end of the first half the score was 11-4 in favor for the Swedes. The first three rounds of the second half added up to a 14-4 score. Virtus.Pro had a hard task in front of them. They managed to climb up to nine rounds only before kneeing down to their opponents for a final score of 16-9.
