While the DreamHack major in Cluj-Napoca has been the biggest event in the last 4 days, Australian Chiefs won the CGPL 6 tournament in Melbourne.
The finals of CyberGamer Premier League 6 in Melbourne took place yesterday. While the major event in Cluj-Napoca was overwhelmingly present, Australia's finest were invited to participate in an offline tournament with a total prize pool of $10.000.
The final match was set between The Chiefs and Team Immunity, going the full distance across all free maps. The Chiefs were finally able to set the matter with a 2-1 victory. After loosing the first map de_cache quite devastatingly 16-5, they managed to come back on de_dust2 with a 16-11 victory. Finally, the decider map de_train went to double overtime, eventually in favor of The Chiefs with a 25-23 end result.
Distributing the prize pool across the first four teams, The Chiefs earned $5.000 and Team Immunity got their share of $2.500 for the second place.
