Recently VALVE released an update for CS:GO, where they introduced the upcoming major stickers, alongside a couple of tweaks to de_train and de_mirage and their very own fantasy team challenge.
- Cluj-Napoca Stickers
In just a week we will see the start of Dreamhack Cluj-Napoca. In light of this event, VALVE has released the team and player stickers related to the event that may be purchased through the in-game shop.
- Fantasy Team Challenge
Alongside the stickers came a new introduction: the Fantasy Team Challenge. Everyone is familiar with the mechanics of fantasy teams, however we will go over it in case there were any doubts. You are invited to select five players from a pool of 80 players that will be participating at Cluj-Napoca. Depending on how well they perform individually you will receive points that add up all the way till the end of the event. People that are in the top 30% of the scoreboard receive a Bronze trophy, the top 15% receive a Silver trophy, and finally the top 5% receive the glamorous Gold trophy. To select certain players you must own their respective sticker and apply it to the fantasy challenge. All trophies will be rewarded at the end of the tournament.
- Map Adjustments
Finally we saw a few tweaks made to maps from the competitive pool, namely de_train and de_mirage that concerned particular bomb placement issues, whereby players would be able to place a bomb and render it stuck, complicating the defusing process. Additionally de_mirage received an aesthetic adjustment, where the palm tree next to ‘’ticket box’’ was moved a bit further back, making it easier for T’s entering A site to spot CTs watching from ticket box and de_train had an unintentional A site boost removed.
