Rainbow Six Siege can’t catch a break.
For the second time in the last two weeks, Rainbow Six Siege X has been hacked. Ubisoft’s multiplayer first-person shooter was only recently brought back from a debilitating series of hacks that gave players billions of free in-game currency over the holiday season. However, the game was hacked again earlier today, with several players reporting being hit with 67-day bans.
Ubisoft has not commented on the hack yet.
Rainbow Six Siege X players hit with 67-day bans following another hack
Rainbow Six Siege X has been hacked once again, following the sudden Christmas week hack that hit players over the holidays. While the first hack at least gave a few players free in-game credits to make purchases in the cosmetic shop, this second hack seems to be focused on handing out bans left and right.
Players are reporting being hit with bans for “Harassment Offenses” lasting a whopping 67 days, seemingly themed after the viral 67 brainrot meme. Some players also reported receiving notifications reading “We wanted to let you know that 67676767 of your reports led to sanctions."
The game’s Service Status website also reports unplanned issues including matchmaking outages and degraded connectivity, happening across all platforms on both consoles and PC.
This situation is currently ongoing, and Ubisoft has not issued any official statements on the hack. Previously, the company had stated that “investigations and corrections will continue over the next two weeks” after rolling back purchases made during the previous hack.
Those investigations may still be ongoing, given that the company has offered no update on their outcome in the week that has passed since the hack.
