LGB dismisses Mystic cheating accusations

LGB eSports has now publicly addressed of accusations their temporary stand-in Mystic cheating.

To fill the vacant spot left by Team Kinguin's acquisition of their star player Håvard "rain" Nygaard, LGB eSports had recruited the services of Kristoffer “Mystic” Michelsen, a player little known outside of the Norwegian scene. Mystic proved to be a good choice for the team, going beyond the expectations of many and holding his own against some of the best teams in the world.

However, a rumor recently formed online that a Steam account tied to Michelsen appeared to have a recent CS:GO VAC ban, which raised suspicions towards to the legitimacy of the player's skill while playing for LGB. 

LGB eSports has now released a statement denying the accusations against their stand-in, indicating that an investigation in cooperation with Valve, found that "the rumors surrounding Mystic does not match the findings and they are therefore false. [Mystic] is not associated with the accounts VAC BAN, and therefore no cheating actions."

Finally, Hicham Chachine, CEO and founder of Diglife, the parent company of LGB eSports, had the following to say about the rumors, and a word of warning about false accusations:

We have been in contact with Valve in order to get an overview of the rumors surrounding Mystic prior to signing him. The investigation carried out shows that the player has been subject to false accusations, and is not linked to the accounts VAC BAN. We will always do our outmost to ensure that all our players hold the highest professional standard, and we would not have signed Mystic if the findings of Valve proved the rumors correct. We have done everything in our power to make sure the player is “clean”, working with the publisher of CS:GO. At last, we kindly request media and the community to show caution when writing about rumors as these can potentially be damaging to players and organizations in the events of them not being correct.”
