Ninjas in Pyjamas stomped Virtus.pro to secure themselves a spot in the winners bracket finals.

Round 2 of SLTV StarSeries XII LAN finals brought us a match between two powerhouses, Ninjas in Pyjamas and Virtus.pro. After the banning phase of the veto process, three maps remained and VP took de_mirage, NiP decided to go with de_inferno, while the last and if needed the deciding one will be de_nuke.
Virtus.pro is known to be one of the best teams on de_mirage therefore this pick was totally expected as mirage was available in the pool. NiP won the knife round and decided to start on the more favored CT side where they had an unbelievable beginning, winning 7 consecutive rounds. VP was looking completely off compass, not managing to accomplish anything. Finally, the eight round brought them their first round on the board; sadly, it was the only round they won during the first half. NiP had an amazing lead of 14-1 as they were transitioning over to T side. The second pistol round was won once again by the Swedes and they had reached match point. It seemed as it would be a devastating loss for VP, but they managed to win the 17th round with pistols, and four more following that. In the end, NiP had won it 16 to 6 and VP were destroyed on their best map.
The second map that was played on de_inferno, more or less of the same scenario that occurred on the first map. NiP started on the CT side, securing a huge lead of 12-3 by the end of first half. VP was struggling to get any round on the board after the first two initial rounds which they won. The Swedes even opened the second half by getting the pistol round which allowed them to quickly achieve match point. VP held their grounds a tad bit longer, but in the end,the match was closed at 16-6 and NiP is the first team in the winners bracket to reach the finals. VP will be moving on to the lower bracket and will meet Team Solomid.
