Inferno Online has boosted the level of competition for the upcoming CS:GO tournament by adding world class French side LDLC to the field.
What was formerly a competition of 5 (4 invitees + 1 qualifying team) has been expanded to a field of 6. LDLC will join a TBD online qualifier winner, NiP, Fnatic, Virtus.Pro and fellow countrymen from Titan to contest for a prize purse totalling over 25,000 euro. IOS Pantamera, presented by Inferno Online Stockholm and Returpack, will take place on February 7th.
The format for the event will remain unchanged, as the six teams will battle it out in a best-of-one round-robin. Following the group stage, the leading team will automatically advance to the grand final while the second and third place squads will play in a consolidation match for the other grand final berth.
Despite a small list of participants, IOS Pantamera features five of the top 10 teams in the world, including recent ESEA champions Fnatic and Dreamhack Winter victors LDLC. It will be interesting to see which of the teams in attendance can continue their momentum as the Counter-Strike community kicks off its biggest year in history. Of course, keep an eye on the ticker come February 7th, as the entire tournament will take place over the course of 12 hours.
