The seventh qualifier saw mostly the teams already within top 16 strengthen their positions and the battle for the cut-off line gets more fierce.
The winner of this week's qualifier leg is NinjasWithAttitude from America, despite it being a Europe-focused qualifier. Europe's highest placing representatives were Three Headed Monkey who finished second. Big wins for both teams as they more or less doubled their total points compared to the standings prior to the qualifiers.
Worth mentioning is that Team BOOM and Spade & His Incredible Team, the two teams currently with the most amount of points did sign up for this qualifier but BOOM unfortunately had to forfeit due to one of their players missing. Spade's team was matched up against Last Moment in the first round and lost. Last Moment gained four points this week, which together with out similiarly ranked teams gaining similar amouint of points raised the cut-off mark to 14 points.
Team 99cents, the champions of the first Awesome Cup still proves that winning one qualifier leg alone is perhaps enough to finish top 16. They currently rest at sixth place on the back of the 30 points they got for playing and winning the third overall qualifier. Still five qualifiers to go though.
This coming weekend (May 23) will feature the eight overall qualifier (the fourth American one). The bracket starts at 19.00 CEST, registrations open on Monday.
